No Creed But Christ, No Rule But The Bible |
NO CREED BUT CHRIST.......................................................
Jesus taught, and the apostles guided by the Holy Spirit, that
in
order for one to be saved, it is necessary that they:
(1) BELIEVE (2) REPENT(3) CONFESS CHRIST (4) BE BAPTIZED
Verses from the New International Version online at
Bible Gateway, http://bible.gospelcom.net/
Hebrews 11:6
6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone
who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those
who earnestly seek him.
Acts 16:31
31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved--you
and your household."
Romans 10:17
17 Consequently, faith comes from hearing the message, and the
message is heard through the word of Christ.
(2) REPENT
To sorrow for sin, turn from it and amend one's way.
Acts 17:30-31
30 In the past God overlooked such ignorance, but now he commands all
people everywhere to repent. 31For he has set a day when he will judge
the world with justice by the man he has appointed. He has given proof
of this to all men by raising him from the dead."
(3) CONFESS
The religious world today has men to confess different things, but
let us consider the Scriptures
Matthew 10:32-33
32 "Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him
before my Father in heaven. 33 But whoever disowns me before men,
I will disown him before my Father in heaven.
Acts 2:37
37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said
to Peter and the other apostles, "Brothers, what shall we do?"
Romans 10:8-10
8 But what does it say? "The word is near you; it is in your mouth
and in your heart," that is, the word of faith we are proclaiming: 9
That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe
in your heart that God raised him from the dead you will be saved. 10 For
it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with
your mouth that you confess and are saved.
Acts 8:38
38 And he gave orders to stop the chariot. Then both Philip and
the eunuch went down into the water and Philip baptized him.
Acts 22:16
16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and
wash your sins away, calling on his name.'
Romans 6:3-4
3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ
Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried with him
through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from
the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.
Galatians 3:26-27
26 You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27
for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with
Christ.
1 Peter 3:21
21 and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also--not the
removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward
God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ,

22 And God placed all things under his feet and appointed him to be
head over everything for the church, 23which is his body, the fullness
of him who fills everything in every way.
6. Ephesians 4:4 The Church is his body.
There is only one body
4 There is one body and one Spirit--just as you were called to one
hope when you were called-
7. Acts 2:47 The Lord adds to the Church.
47 praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And
the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
8. 2 Timothy 2:10 Salvation is in Christ.
10 Therefore I endure everything for the sake of the elect, that
they too may obtain the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal
glory.

27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves
with Christ.
10. Romans 6:3-4 Baptism is a burial.
3 Or don't you know that all of us who were baptized into
Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? 4 We were therefore buried
with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised
from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life.

17 After taking the cup, he gave thanks and said, "Take this and divide
it among you. 18 For I tell you I will not drink again of the fruit of
the vine until the kingdom of God comes." 19 And he took bread, gave thanks
and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, "This is my body given for you;
do this in remembrance of me." 20 In the same way, after the
supper he took the cup, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood,
which is poured out for you.

you proclaim the Lord's death until he comes.

glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope

with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Christ.
4. PRAYER
Luke 11:1-4
1 One day Jesus was praying in a certain place. When he finished,
one of his disciples said to him, "Lord, teach us to pray, just as John
taught his disciples." 2 He said to them, "When you pray, say:"
'Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. 3
Give us each day our daily bread. 4 Forgive us our sins, for we also
forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into
temptation. ' "

6. CONTRIBUTION
1 Corinthians 16:1-2
1 Now about the collection for God's people: Do what I told the
Galatian churches to do. 2 On the first day of every week, each one
of you should set aside a sum of money in keeping with his income,
saving it up, so that when I come no collections will have to be made.
2 Corinthians 8:12-15
12 For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according
to what one has, not according to what he does not have. 13
Our desire is not that others might be relieved while you are hard pressed,
but that there might be equality. 14 At the present time your
plenty will supply what they need, so that in turn their plenty will supply
what you need. Then there will be equality, 15 as it is written: "He who
gathered much did not have too much, and he who gathered little did not
have too little."
2 Corinthians 9:6-9
6 Remember this: Whoever sows sparingly will also reap
sparingly, and whoever sows generously will also reap generously. 7Each
man should give what he has decided in his heart to give, not reluctantly
or under compulsion, for God loves a cheerful giver. 8 And God is
able to make all grace abound to you, so that in all things at all times,
having all that you need, you will abound in every good work. 9As it is
written: "He has scattered abroad his gifts to the poor; his righteousness
endures forever."
